We practised the screening test of the producibility of fluorescent substances like riboflavin, using the Pfeffer's solution as culture medium, on 249 fungal isolates, including 185 strains of Aspergillus and its analogues isolated by Sakaguchi from "seed Koji " in the market, Ryukyu "Awamori Koji", and Kagosima and Hachizyoshima "Syochu Koji", 35 strains of yellow green Aspergillus of China isolated by Dr. Yamazaki, 13 isolates of Asp. flavusoryzae series given by Mr. Thom, MInistry of Agriculture, U. S. and other strains of fungi.As a result of thi test, certatin strains of fungi, which are more potent in producibility of riboflavin-like material thatn "KB", the most potent strains of the fommer report, were obtained.They were as follows : OH-324,OR-2032 B, OKG-4237,OKX-4030,OH-422,YH-165 II After the screening test we manufactured the "Koji" of various kinds of cereals using "KB" and cxamined their riboflavin content. Corn, particularly its embryo is the most suitable material for the productin of riboflavin.
