• The present paper deals with the genetic behaviors of conidial colors, growth requirements, drug resistances as genetic markers in the heterocaryons and heterozygous diploids of Aspergillus niger. In the color mutants, cinnamon, light cinnamon and drab are shown to the allelic to one another. Cinnamon and light cinnamon are formed due probably to the mutation at the same locus. Position effect is observed between drab and cinnamon.Drug resistances to kabicidine, Cu, Co, Cd, Fe, etc., are dominant-like, while the resistance to Ni is recessive-like in the diploids.
