Gap Measurements of the Antiferromagnetic Compound Ce_2Fe_<17>

Break-junction measurements on Ce_2Fe_<17> have been carried out for the first time. The differential conductance exhibits the gap feature associated with the antiferrmagnetic state below T_<N1>=125 K. The gap magnitude of 2Δ=13-16 meV at 4.2 K corresponds to 1.2-1.5 k_BT_<N1>, which is considerably smaller than the mean-field prediction. We also observed distinct conductance structures at higher bias voltages. Their possible origins are briefly discussed.
