HU, Y., ASANO, K., MIZUNO, K and USUKI S., Relationship between Serum Free and Total Testosterone after Exercise Training during Normoxia and Hypobaric Hypoxia in Rats. Adv. Exerc. Sports Physiol., Vol.7, No.1 pp17-20, 2001. The relationship between serum free testosterone (FT) and total testosterone (TT) was investigated after exercise training during normoxia and hypobaric hypoxi. The male rats swam with loads of 3%(normoxia) or 2.25% (hypoxia, 462 mmHg) of body weight, for 60 min in the continuous training groups, and 15 min separated by 7 min pause × 4, with total 60 min swimming duration in the intermittnet training gropus, 5 days per week for 6 weeks. Serum FT and TT were measured immediately and 24 h after exercise at the end of the 6 week training period. A significant correlation between the individual changes in FT and TT after normoxia exercise was noted. However, this relationship was not significant after hypoxia exercise. Neither normoxia nor hypoxia training affected the parallel relationships between FT and TT 24 f after exercise.
