Experimental Studies on Effects of Discharge, Fall Height, and Water Depth of Downstream Tank in Aerated Flow at Weir

• When water flows over a weir and drops down, aeration occurs in the receiving downstream tank. Experiments are conducted for various conditions of the discharge, fall height at the drop, and water depth at the downstream tank. The water depth is set as 30 cm and 70 cm when the discharge is equal to 1.2 L/s, whereas it is set as 30 cm, 50 cm, and 70cm when the discharge is equal to 2.4 L/s. The values of the over-all mass transfer coefficient increase in different ratio depending on whether the fall height is greater than 120 cm or not.
