To enhance steptomycin production by Streptomyces griseus, a computer-aided fermentation system was used. Streptomycin fermentation with oxygen uptake rate and/or carbon dioxide evolution rate monitoring allowed highly efficient production of streptomycin by detecting the timing for glucose addition and the stop-page of cultivation.
