Paeonilide, a Novel Anti-PAF-active Monoterpenoid-derived Metabolite from Paeonia delavayi

A novel monoterpenoid-derived metabolite, paeonilide, was isolated from the roots of Paeonia delavayi. Its structure was established by a combination of spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic analyses. It showed an anti-PAF effect with an IC_<50> value of ca. 8μg/ml.
