Because of needs for monitoring real-time human body information, we developed a wrist-worn sensing system for human healthcare, in particular for exercise. The system is capable of measuring pulse signal, acquiring human real-time information through a wearable sensor and showing it on a wearable display by applying the bluetooth-wireless technology. The unit can calculate energy expenditure during exericse considering individual difference by estimating oxygen uptake from correlation between heart rate and oxygen uptake.
