Creep cavities are formed at grain boundaries in heat resisting alloys during high temperature use and cause low ductility and premature fracture by their growth and linkage. By suppression of the cavitation it may be possible to extend the creep rupture life and improve the rupture ductility of heat resisting alloys. Present work is intended to propose a self-healing process for the cavitation and improve the creep rupture properties. It may be possible to precipitate a chemical compound of BN on creep cavity surface by addition of B and N. As the BN is very stable at high temperatures, the precipitation of BN on creep cavity surface is expected to suppress the creep cavity growth and bring about the healing effect on the cavitation.
