Guinea pigs passively sensitized with a minimal lethal dose of rabbit antiserum to egg-albumin were reinjected with various dose of egg-albumin. In these experiments the intensities of the anaphylactic reactions were found to tend to decrease as the dose of antigen became extremely excessive. For instance, in a group of the guinea pig sensitized with 0.03 mg of rabbit anti-egg-albumin nitrogen and reinjected with about 30 mg of rabbit anti-egg-albumin nitrogen intravenously 48 hours after sensitizing injection, a small number of them were relieved from the death by anaphylactic shock. On the other hand, guinea pigs reinjected with less dose of antigen died with typical anaphylactic shock without exceptions. Similar results were obtained when non-precipitable antibody were used.
