A new nonlinear vibration analysis method for flexible rotors has been developed. By this method many kinds of steady state nonlinear vibration phenomena of flexible rotors can be made clear more economically than many time history integrating methods. The time history integrating method like Runge-Kutta takes much time to get final steady state response if the degree of freedom is greate. On the other hand, it is no trouble for the new method how big the degree of freedom of the system is because that is based on the harmonic balance method and the transfer matrix method. As an example, the results of unbalance response analysis of a model case are shown, where two flexible rotors supported with two nonlinear bearings respectively are coupled with a nonlinear coupling. These results made clear that the new method is time and money saving one and has sufficient accuracy.
