Development of Laws of Similarity for Electrospark Forming

Rresent paper is concerned with laws of similarity which predict the value of final deformation in an electrospark forming process ; namely, a generalized method to estimte the value of the permanent deformation of a plate or a shell subjected to an underwater electrospark. These laws are based on the results obtained to date by our experimental or theoretical research, as well as on some additional experimental results using an industrial electrospark forming machine under the charged energy of up to 19 KJ. The applicability of the proposed laws is then examined in the light of the results obtained by other investigators. Finally, useful extensions of these laws will be suggested.
