No load fatigue test of L-type polyurethane toothed belt for general industries was done. The direction of working flank is decided by the initial tension and the pitch difference. The initial tension in which the wear is least is a little lower than the tension at which the direction of the working flank changes. The tendency of the relation between belt wear and the initial tension coincides with that of the relation between the friction power of the belt and the pulley at the incomplete meshing region and the initial tension.
