• We have, for the first tirne, succeeded in preparing a single crystal of' UNi.zAl3 exhibiting bothsuperconducting and antiferrornagnetic ordered phase transitions. The rnagnetic susceptibilityin the normal and pararnagnetic state for the external naagnetic field H applied parallel to thehexagonal a-axis, is fotrnd to be larger thatn that f'or the field applied along the c-axis, The uppercritical rnagnetic field H.z(T) for f//a-axis is nuuch larger thttn that for H7c-axis. No flatteningdue to the Pauli limiting effect has been observed in the H.z vs. T curve. Coznparison of theseresvrlts with those of the isostrtrcttrral connpotrnd UPd,zAl3 svtggests that the superconductingstate is strongly related to the antiferrornagnetic ordered state.
