We explain the extremely large effective masses of f electrons of heavy fermionsystems, from the values of the bandwidths of the f electrons and the s conductionelectrons obtained by the band calculation. The interaction of f electrons intermediated by the s conduction electrons of a lighter mass is adopted to make the at-tractive interaction appear for superconductivity, and the partial wave decompositionof the interaction including the screened Coulomb repulsion between f electrons isshown to explain the predominance of s or p wave superconductivity depending onthe ratio of fermi wave vectors of the f and the s electrons.
