Manganites of perovskite structure have recently attracted much attention due to the colossal magnetoresistance effect and its potential application. The mother system LaMnO_3 is a Mott insulator, and is observed to be layer-type antiferromagnetic state (A-type) by neutron-scattering experiments. We calculate the dynamical correlation function S(k,ω) by means of the two time Green's function for this compound within Hartree-Fock approximation by employing the effective Hamiltonian, which consists of the spin operator S and the pseudo spin operator T for the orbital degree of freedom. We focus our attention to spin dynamics, especially regarding the interplaying between spin and orbital degrees of freedom. The results are compared with experimental data.
