Electron Impact Ionization of O^+,S^+and S^+Ions

Absolute cross sections for electron impact single ionization of 0", S" and S" ionshave been measured at an electron impact energy range from belc>w threshold to 1000eV, using the crossed beam technique. The measured cross sections for 0" ions arereproduced quite well with the semiempirical Lotz formula over the whole energyrange investigated. The measured cross sections for S" and S" ions show a morerapid rise from the threshold to their peak than those expected from the Lotz for-mula. For S" ions, another small bump beginning at 120 eV is observed, where nolevel exists that may contribute to any direct or indirect ionization processes.[electron'crossed-beam ll technique,lumpact, uonization cross section, absolute measurement,O" ion, S" Ton, S" ion, experiment
