Specific heat is calculated numerically for finite size systems. It is shown that ataround v=I/3 the specific heat shows a Schottky-type peak, which reflects the ex-istence of a collective mode with a finite energy gap. Here, v is the filling factor of theLandau level. An extrapolation of this result to the infinite sizc; system is carried out.
