A dynamic equation of atoms irradiated by a laser light in a magnetic field isapplied to the light modulation experiment of atoms, whose excited states are notoptically connected with the ground state. The resonance for the fluorescentlight as a ftmction of magnetic field is derived. The resonance curve for thefluorescent light from the lower level is fotmd to be a superposition of resonancecurves of two different widths. The broad component is a manifestation of theatomic coherence of the lower level. The narrow component is attributed to theatomic coherence of the upper level which is transferred to the lower level byspontaneous emission. The decay rate of the upper level is included in the expres-sion of the resonance curve for the fluorescent light from the lower level.
