Electron Spin Resonance of Cr^<3+> at Tetrahedral Sites in Phenacite (Be_2SiO_4) Single Crystals

Electron spin resonance in synthetic phenacite (Be_2SiO_4), single crystals doped with Cr_2O_3 was observed at 1.2 K at about 9.1 GHz with g_z(eff)=1.2615±0.0004, g_x(eff)=1.5686±0.0002, and g_y(eff)=5.4881±0.0009 , and the hyper-fine coupling constant A=20.5±0.8G. It is proved that this spectrum is attributed to Cr^<3+> located at the Be or at the Si sites of tetrahedral coordination.
