The Binding Energy of the σ Bond, II. Application to the Diamond Crystal

A calculation of the cohesive energy of the diamond crystal has been carried out by using the general scheme which is derived by the Heitler-London approximation in the preceding article. It has been found that the value of the binding energy is about 3.26eV per a bond in rather good agreement with the observed one.
