Interfacial reactions of hydrogen on Pt(111), t1lO), (TOO) interfaces have been studied by elec-trochetnical methods. In the methods, the electrornotive force (BNIF) of a H2lH" electrolyte ?Ptcell and the current in a short circuit of the cell were measured in a ternperature region of 278 Kto 353 K by tusing a new method. By the new technique of hydrogen and/or oxygen adsorptionmethod, we have obtained good reproducibility. The surface orientation dependence of the EIV[Fwas discttssed on the structure dependence of the work function, and the dependence of thecurrent was interpreted by that of hydrogen adsorption sites. The ternperature dependence of'the EIV[F and the current was discussed in terms of surface relaxation or reconstruction. In thecase of Pt(110) -H systern, the transition of the El,IVIF and that of the current were observed at310 K. It was explained by the surf'ace restructuring.
