Bandwidth-and Doping-Dependent Pressure Effects on the Ferromagnetic Transition in Perovskite Manganites

Effects of hydrostatic pressure on the rnagnetic and transport properties of R3 .Sr.lVInO3 havebeen investigated with systernatic variation of the one-electron bandwidth (TV) of a conductionelectron, as well as of the doping level (r). The positive pressure coefficient (dlnT0/dP) ofthe Curie temperature is observed for all the compounds, and its absolute valtre increases withdecrease of 14/, or equivalently, 'Z'C. We have derived a nearly .r-independent empirical relationbetween the coefficient and T0in the lightly doped region (.r< 0.4). The coefficients at x tl/2,however, are found to deviate frotn the above relation due to competing antiferrornagnetic and/orcharge-ordering interaction.
