Based on the quark jet model we calculate the forward and backward multiplicitiesin vp and tp interactions. In these calculations the observed rapidity distributions ofparticles produced in e'e annihilations are used as input data to determine therapidity distribution of secondary particles in the quark jet. The model describes theP(P)P forward and backward multiplicities successfully, if we choose the inelasticityparameter t7 to be 0.46. This result suggests that the inelasticity parameter takesdifferent values for leptonic and hadronic interactions.[forward multiplicity, backward multiplicity, chromotube picture, rapidity l[ distribution, quark jet modelI
