We introduce a new one-dimensional competitive system constructed of particleswith Ising spin variables in a periodic substrate potentials, a hard-core type infer-parti-cle interaction and a spin-spin interaction whose exchange energy depends linearly onthe distance between adjacent particles. The hard-core interaction mediates an antifer-romagnetic spin-spin interaction. Although the range of the infer-particle interactionis finite, long-period commensurate phases are caused. Many commensurate phasesappear in the ground state phase diagram.
