Equilibrium equations for nematics are nonlinear coupled partial differential equalions. When the director is confined on a plane and the variables depends only on theangle in cylindrical coordinates, these equations are reduced considerably. The exactsolutions of the resulting equation are obtained even when the three elastic constantsare different and a magnetic field exists. They are in general expressed in terms of theelliptic intergrals. One valuedness plays an important role to determine the configura-lion.
