Unenhanced Spin Susceptibility Consideration of the Spin Density Wave State in fcc Fe

Unenhanced spin susceptibility of fcc Fe is calculated for various wave vectors. Thesusceptibility has a maximum at a wave vector 2x / a(1, q, 0) with q - 7 /48, which isclose to the observed wave vector of spin density wave of fcc Fe precipitates. Characteristics of the susceptibility maximum are discussed in comparison with the case ofCr. It is found that in fcc Fe, the nesting of the Fermi surface hardly contributes tothe determination of the position of the susceptibility maximum in contrast to Cr.fcc Fe, spin density wave, unenhanced spin susceptibility, electronic structure
