A first-principles calculation for metallic superlattices with layered structures is performed by means of the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker (KKR) Green function method, which can attain high efficiency on vector-parallel-processor machines with retaining high accuracy and is competent for a large-scale calculation for the superlattices with many layers.
