Optical absorption spectra of excitons in very thin alternating KCI-KBr multilayerstructures are studied for the first time. Instead of KBr bulk-e>cciton peaks, new sharpspikes having a much steeper rise and located abo've the respective bulk-exciton peakare observed on these spectra. The spikes are interpreted with terms of quantum wellexciton confined in the thin KBr layer. It is also suggested that tnixture formed at infer-faces of the two materials plays important roles in the quantum confinements.
