The temperature T and perpendicular magnetj.c field H dependences of thecritical current I. have been measured for super<:onducting wide bridges madeof granular aluminum. The measured T dependence of I. near the transitiontemperature T. deviates from that derived from the Ginzburg-Landau (GL)equations in a uniform current distribution. The deviation occurs evcn under thecondition that the self-magnetic field due to the current is negligible, and itincreases as the width of bridge or the coherence length increases. These resultsshow that the pair-breaking cttrrent density j. at the edge of bridge is enhancedfrom jg' owing to current concentration due to its geometry. The peak structurewith clear hysteresis for the sweep of II was observed in the l.-H characteristics. The width of the peak seems to be inversely proportional to the bridge width.
