The pressure dependence of the critical temperature is discussed for ferromagneticand antiferromagnetic metals. The single-site spin fluctuation theory developed by thepresent author using the functional integral method is extended to include the volumedependences of the band structttre and of the electron-electron interaction due toapplied pressure. Numerical calculations are performed for Nice alloys, which accountfor anomalously large negative pressure effect on the Curie temperature in the NiceInvar alloys. This effect is shown to arise from a consid<crable reduction of amplitude oflocal magnetic moments due to pressure. It is concluded that the Invar anomalies aredue to non-rigid local moments whose amplitudes vary easily by changing externalparameters such as the temperature and the pressure. The pressure dependence of theNeel temperature of antiferromagnetic metals is also discussed Icy using the presenttheory with the Bell shape model band.
