Exact .V-soljton solution of the higher order wave equation for a stratified fluidla>zer of finite derth is obtained b>' emnrlo>'inx I-Ijrota's bilinear transformationmethod. The solution reduces to the V-soliton solution of the higher orderKorteweg-de Vries equatiotx in the shallow water limnit and to that of the higherorder Benjamin-Oxao equation in the deep water limit. The asymptotic form of thesolution for large time is derived.
