A lattice dynamical model for the study of fcc metals is proposed. The modelconsiders short range pairwise forces effective upto second neighbours andvolume fofces on the lines of Bhatia in improved fofm. The model descfibes theionic lattice to be in equilibrium in a medium of electrons. As an application,phonon spectra for lead are computed and results are discussed.
