M6ssbauer spectra of Fe" were taken at 79 -300 K for naonoclinic FeMo.S.with a layered structure. The divalent state of Fe was confirmed and the antiferro-magnetic N<Set temperature was determined as ]0l.5f0.5 K. The Fe" spinswere shown to lie nearly perpendicular to the ab plane of the nuonoclinic cell belowthe N<Set point. The paramagnetic spectra taken ?tear the Neel point containedadditional unresolved lines, which was considered as a trace of the short rangemagnetic order due to the two dimensional nature of the maz;netic order.
