Optical Absorption of Indirect Exciton in AgCl and AgBr in High Magnetic Field

Critical absorrtions due to indirect excitons in AsCl and AsBr are measuredin high magnetic field up to 150 k0e. Qualitatively our results are similar toMatsushita's except the newly found shift of the center of gravity of the excitonlevels split by a magnetic field. The g values for' electrons and holes, and theexchange energies A, between them are re-examined and more accurate valuesare .('(electron)=1.50, .(77(hole, parallel to [1114)=l.87 and A=O.7 meV for AgCland y'=0.88, !(2/=0.98 and J=0.31 meV for AgBr.
