A Calculation of Magnon Sideband Intensities of Linear Chain Antiferromagnet [(CH_3)_4N][MnCl_3]

A quantitative study is performed for absorption intensities of magnon side-bands b>' ttsinn the exrression of effective dirole moment obtained bv the presentauthors. 3d orbitals of Mn" and 3.s', 3p of Cl - are taken into account explicitlyand intensities are calculated b>' varying covalencies between manganese andchlorine tons. If fairly Iarxe values are assumed for the covalency parameters,calculated /-values of magnon sidebands corresponding to the transitions 'A.,+'T are the sanae order of matnitude of exrerimental va?ues: /=]0-',]0=7.Comparison of relative intensities suggests that a part of intensities obtainedexr>erimentall>' should be attributed to some other mechanisms besides magnons.
