To eltrcidate several isstnes relating to the thernaodynanaics of conaptrtations, we perforrneda simulation of a binary device trsing a Langevin eqtration. The simulation confirnaed that theminimuna energy consttrnption for a cycle of' recording and erasing one- bit of information i s kT In 2as strggested by Landatrer. On the basis of otrr nutnerical restrlts, we consider how to estirnatethe thernaodynarnic entropy of' cornptrtational devices.
