The atomic mass difference of ^<40>Ca and ^<40>Ar atoms has been measured directly by the high resolution mass spectrometer of Osaka University operating at a resolving power of 700,000∼1,000,000. The result obtained is 208.2±0.5μu and somewhat larger than the value based on the 1964 atomic mass table.
