Low-frequency mangnetosonic pulses in a two-ion-species plasma are studied theoretically andby simulation with a one-dirnensional electronaagnetic simulation code based on a three-fluidnaodel, with partictrlar attention to the dynatnics of minority heavy tons. It is f'ound that heavyions can gain some energy frona the ptulses. Because of this energy tr?tnsfer, the pulses are darnpedeven of the plastna is collisionless and pulse propagation is perpendictular to the magnetic field.
