In cuprous oxide we discovered a new hydrogen-like absorption spectrum beside that in the previcus work. Thus we have two groups of hydrogen-like enargy lavels, of which the one previously found seems to be due to a self-trapped electron and the other newly found on the other hand, seems to be due to an exciton and leads to the estimation of the static dielectrie constant of cuprous oxide, being 9.5.
