Cyclotron Absorption in n-Type Lead Telluride

Cyclotron absorption has been observed in n-type lead telluride with carrier concentrations of a wide range. The transverse effective mass increases from m_t=0.0242m_o to m_t=O.0283m_o and the anisotropic mass ratio decreases from K=m_l/m_t=9.34 to K=m_l/m_t=7.91, with increasing carrier concentrations from 1.23×10^<17> to 3.Ox10^<18>cm^<-3>. The observed absorption curves show good agreement with the theoretical curves calcuiated under the classical skin effect conditions following the method of Numata and Uemura.
