The magnetization along the trigonal axis of the single crystal of the anhydrous ferrous chloride has been studied at 4.2°K as a function of field strength up to 24kOe. The sharp transition from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic state was observed at the field strength of ll.6kOe. The atomic magnetic moment obtained from the saturation value of the magnetization was (4.4±0.2) μ_B, which was in good agreement with these obtained by the Mossbauer study and neutron diffraction.
