Recent developments in the theory of electronic states in organic molecular crystals are reviewed. The exciton theory applied to the optical spectra of aromatic molecular crystals is surveyed in §2, and the band theory is considered in §3 in relation to the mobility of excess holes and electrons in the photoconductivity measurements for anthracene crystal.
