Behavior of materials is markedly changed when the size of materials decreases to two steps of the critical values. One is the 0.1μm scale in size and the other the magic size of the nm scale. The former results from homogeneizing both physical and chemical properties of materials, and the latter from local change of the many body potential. In the present report, the former effect has been investigated on both the mechanical behavior of polycrystalline materials and sintering of particles.
