Excitations of the Charged Pion Field in Dense Nuclear Medium with a Neutral Condensate

The existence of the real π^- field with zero momentum in coexistence with the π^0 condensate is discussed for dense neutron matter. The pion nucleon interaction is taken to be the P-wave interaction. Effects of the S-wave and π-π contributions are also discussed. Contrary to considering the nuclear system as Fermi gas, presence of the π^0 condensate favours the reaction n→p+π^-. The Fermi level is lowered, and the energy gain is enough to create a π^- field with zero momentum.
