So as to investigate the validity of the Dirac phenomenology, we revive the relativistic SU(6) model as the generalization of it. The wave function of this model reflects quark picture of baryons through three Dirac and SU(3)-spin indices. The strong ω-Λ tensor coupling, which is necessary to resolve the problem of the small spin-orbit interaction in Λ hypernuclei within the Dirac approach, is well reproduced by using the φ-ω ideal mixing and the electromagnetic form factors. However, this never justifies the application of the Dirac phenomenology to hypernuclei. It is supported only if the effects of the quark and baryon Z-graph are the same. Thus, we next study the effects of quark Z-graph in the relativistic SU(6) model and compare them with those of baryon Z-graph in the Dirac model. It has been found that the validity of the Dirac phenomenology is restricted to 1) the region of small transferred momentum, 2) SU(2) subspace and 3) isoscalar-meson exchange interactions. This conclusion is consistent to the suggestion by Bleszynski et al.
