The vacuum fluctuation corrections to the generalized relativistic impulse optical potentials developed by Tjon and Wallace are investigated in a nuclear matter approach. We treat divergences by analogy with the relativistic Hartree calculation. The calculations with and without utilizing a factorization approximation are performed at 200, 500 and 800 MeV. The vacuum corrections in both the calculations have opposite effects on the potentials at all the energies to each other. This indicates that the vacuum corrections have to be calculated without employing the factorization.
