Phase Transition in a Four-Direction Traffic Flow Model on a Two-Dimensional Network

We investigate properties of a four-direction traffic flow model on a two-dimensional network in which four types of cars are assumed to exist and may choose their direction by probabilities at a crossing. We consider a square lattice with single lane and use synchronous update of positions of cars. The fundamental diagram, whichis similar to that for one-dimensional traffic flow models, is obtained in our model.
