The influence of particle size on the spin density wave (SDW) in γ-FeCo precipitates in Cu has been studied by neutron diffraction methods. The wavelength and Neel temperature of the SDW depend sensitively on the size of particles when the precipitates are small. The smaller the particle size, the longer the wavelength and the higher the Neel temperature. Possible origins of this size dependence of the SDW are discussed.
