It is shown that in the three-dimensional space-time the Dirac equation of a fermion - either massless or massive - interacting with a gauge field can be brought into the framework of the supersymmetric quantum ?,n mechanics by Witten. This conclusion is independent of any properties of the gauge field such as whether the gauge field is abelian or nonabelian.
